The same accredited Dutch bachelor that students follow in the Netherlands, studied entirely online. Here is what it is, in plain terms.

  1. HBO bachelor

    In the Netherlands this is called an HBO bachelor: a university of applied sciences degree. Practice-oriented, focused on applying knowledge to real professional work.

  2. BSc · 240 EC

    You graduate with the title Bachelor of Science. 240 EC is the full four-year study load in the European credit system.

  3. CROHO · EQF 6

    The programme is registered in the Dutch CROHO register under 39172, and sits at EQF level 6, the European reference level for a bachelor.

What the degree gives you

  • A Dutch-accredited Bachelor of Science within the European higher education system
  • A level that is readable internationally, through the shared Bologna structure
  • A portfolio of real projects and a graduation project at a real company

What it does not do by itself

  • It is a qualification, not an immigration decision. It does not give you the right to live or work in another country.
  • It is not automatically recognised in South Africa. If you need formal recognition, you can request an individual evaluation from SAQA, which assesses foreign qualifications against the NQF.

    Admission

    We look at your background. Your Matric / National Senior Certificate is assessed individually; there is no automatic admission on any certificate. You need English at IELTS 6.0 level or equivalent. No coding experience is required.

    Three years of building

    Online, with your coach, live classes you can join or watch back, and projects that grow with you.

  4. 4

    A 12-month internship

    In your final year, at a real company. Your current employer can host it if there is a suitable tech assignment and an on-site supervisor. Your Bit Academy coach keeps supporting you throughout.

    Graduate

    Bachelor of Science in Software Development, 240 EC.

Is this a real bachelor degree?

Yes. It is a Dutch-accredited bachelor degree in Software Development, worth 240 EC, registered in the Dutch CROHO register under 39172 and placed at EQF level 6. You graduate with the title Bachelor of Science (BSc). It is the same degree as students who follow the programme in the Netherlands.

Is it recognised in South Africa?

Not automatically. If you need formal recognition in South Africa, you can apply for a SAQA evaluation, which assesses foreign qualifications against the NQF. We do not claim automatic recognition.

Do I need to move?

No. The programme is 100% online, so you study from home in South Africa. You need a stable internet connection. Every class is recorded, so you never have to attend anything live.

Can I study while working?

Yes. You set your study rhythm with your personal coach. Completing the degree in the nominal four years means about 30 hours of study a week; if you combine it with work or family, you agree a sustainable pace with your coach.

Do I need coding experience?

No. You start from the foundations and build up across the programme. Curiosity and commitment matter more than existing experience.

Why do I pay annually?

Tuition is billed per academic year, in euros. If paying annually does not work for you, say so during the intake conversation and we will tell you what is possible.

Is this a bootcamp?

No. A bootcamp is a short, intensive course. This is a full four-year bachelor (240 EC) covering frontend, backend, databases, cloud, AI and software architecture, with a graduation project at a real company.
